A creative and hands-on person with a love for nature, animals, and making things happen. She is married to Irm, and together they have a daughter, Robin, who lives in Amsterdam. Sofie feels most at home when she’s outdoors, especially when surrounded by animals like her horses.

She studied at the Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam and later earned degrees in art history and new media at the University of Amsterdam. Over the years, she has combined her creative background with her entrepreneurial side by running a dog-walking company and a small B&B in Amsterdam.

In 2022, Sofie and Irm moved to France to take on a new challenge: renovating Sivade, a 25-hectare estate with multiple buildings, barns, and houses. This peaceful spot in the middle of nature has become their home and a place where creativity and hard work come together. Sofie spends her days working on the estate, caring for the animals, and enjoying the quiet rhythm of life in the countryside.

A creative and talented person who worked for many years in her own stained-glass business. She restored historic windows, designed and created new ones, and gave weekly workshops to teach others this traditional craft.

She studied at the art academy and she has a great talent for painting beautiful portraits. Many of the paintings in the rental cottages are her creations, bringing a personal and creative atmosphere to the spaces.

Irm enjoys welcoming guests from around the world and does her best to make their stay pleasant. Moving to France was a long-held dream for her; a place where she could live surrounded by nature and explore her creativity.

She comes from a large family with 14 siblings and values their close bond. Her family often visits Sivade, filling it with life and music. Irm combines her creativity, practical skills, and love for hosting in a simple and special way.
